Robert Brereton: Music

Saltarello

(Rob Brereton)
2000
Vicenzo Galilei (1525-1591)
I originally learned this on classical guitar in college. The drone of D-A-d made it perfect for dulcimer with four equidistant strings tuned D-A-d-d. The melody is all played on the near treble string. I play the classical guitar accompaniment. Oh yeah, and the finger cymbals too!

A note of interest: the composer was Galileo's father, an accomplished musician of his time. There's a bit of history on V. Galilei at http://galileo.rice.edu/fam/vincenzo.html
